MHOC are Cross Country Champions!!!!

On Wednesday 7th October 2015, some 5th and 6th class girls travelled to Morton Stadium in Santry for the ‘Brother at Your Side’ Cross Country competition with Ms. Carr and M. Pidgeon.

The girls participated in a 1000 metre race against many other schools and the standard was exceptional! From the whistle, the MHOC girls battled through the 100+ participants. They gave 100% and at the finish line, it was evident that the MHOC girls were the strongest athletics team in the race, obtaining the ‘Overall Girls’ School’ title and medals for the team.

We held trials in early May in all classes from 3rd-6th for the Santry track day. Teams were selected for each age category and training was held every day after school. All athletes were very dedicated and worked hard at training. We did lots of exercises to make us faster at our sprints and practised how to receive and pass the baton in our relay races. On Friday the 5th we set off to Santry. We were very proud to march with our Mary Help of Christians banner and sing songs in the parade.
